The British Ocean Rowing Team has been hard at work; building up strengths and reserves for
the tough challenge ahead. The boat has been carefully packed including their secret weapon
Coan Biltong sealed in Over-Board dry bags. The 26ft Ocean Rowing boat is now on route to
the Canary Islands courtesy of shipping company, Maersk.
Team Captain Dom Mee commented from the dock at Felixstowe;
“Getting the team and the boat ready for the record attempt means psychologically we are
already past the half way mark, it takes a tremendous amount of effort just to make plans
become reality and we are deeply indebted to all our sponsors. Especially; Hamilton Rentals
and Innotec for their continued support.”
The British Ocean Rowing Team will be based in La Palma Canaries Islands from the
4th January waiting for a weather window to start their record attempt. The team has
advanced satellite communications on board supplied by 7E Communications and will be
sending back regular progress reports.
